The American beamed. “Those are some beautiful fish! How long did it take you to catch them?”![]()

The fisherman shrugged. “I have enough to support my family’s needs.”![]()

The American, who smelled strongly of ambition and probably coffee, said, “But what do you do with the rest of your time?”![]()

The Mexican leaned back and said, “I sleep late, fish a little, play with my kids, take siestas with my wife, Maria, stroll into the village each evening where I sip wine and play guitar with my amigos. I have a full and busy life.”![]()

The American scoffed. “Listen, I have an MBA from Harvard. Let me help you. You should spend more time fishing. With the extra money, you could buy a bigger boat.![]()

With the money from the bigger boat, you could buy several boats. Eventually, you’d have an entire fleet of fishing boats.![]()

Instead of selling your fish to a middleman, you’d sell directly to the processor and eventually open your own cannery.![]()
